Love is Blind Habibi premiered on Netflix on October 10. The reality show showcases Arabian contestants taking a shot at love that surpasses the looks and appearances of a person.
Some of the singles formed deep bonds with their potential suitors and got engaged outside the pods by episode 4. However, out of the six couples who exchanged rings, three chose to part ways within the following two episodes.
All three of the engaged couples reunited in episode 7 of Love is Blind Habibi. After talking about their journey so far, they were joined by their single cast mates Karim, Nour, and Mido.
Nour and Mido were initially engaged after leaving the pods. However, they broke up in episode 5 due to their clashing personalities.
The former couple was asked what they had been up to since breaking up. While Mido shared that he met a girl, Nour stated that she didn’t have low standards enough to start dating in just one day.
Mido felt that Nour was trying to downplay his story. After mimicking Nour’s comments, he said in his confessional that she had “zero character.” He said:
“‘Like, actually this is my standard, this is my standard’. Zero character.”
Love is Blind Habibi star Mido and Nour break silence after their breakup
Mido shared in Love is Blind Habibi episode 7 that he met a girl from Egypt, who he felt was “extremely pretty”. Nour believed that Mido was just trying to make her jealous with his made-up story. She said:
“He comes in ready with the script that he made up, and he’s reciting it, and I’m… in another world… A mountain doesn’t shake from the wind.”
After hearing Mido’s story, Safa asked Nour if she had met anyone after her breakup. Nour replied:
“Do you think I have such standards? I meet someone in one day? Sorry?”
Daunia chimed in between their conversation and asked the former Love is Blind Habibi couple the “best thing” they learned from their experience on the show.
Mido sarcastically replied:
“Love is never blind”.
He went on to subtly criticize Nour, saying that some people “just talk” but don’t follow through with their words.
Daunia added to Mido’s statement, which was indirectly aimed at Nour, and said that she thought some people were focusing more on appearances than on other things.
Karim commended Nour and Mido for making the “conscious decision” to split up after things didn’t work out the way they desired. The Love is Blind Habibi contestant said:
“But I respect both Nour and Mido. They met each other and said that it wouldn’t work out. You guys made a conscious decision. I mean, not like you were hypnotized and… Really, you guys just said that it wouldn’t work out.”
Nour chimed in after Karim’s comment, stating that no matter what happens, a person should never “lower their standards.” She further added that she has her standards. She said:
“Me? I believe that whatever happens, one doesn’t have to … one doesn’t have to lower their standards. I have my standards.”
Karim asked Nour if her statement was directed towards Mido and if she believed that her former Love is Blind Habibi partner wasn’t up to her standards.
She defended herself, clarifying that her remarks were meant to be taken in a general sense.
Nour’s fellow cast mates, however, felt that her remarks were rude and arrogant. Chafic reacted in his confessional:
“You think other girls don’t have standards? You think they live in the street?”
Before tensions could escalate further, Safa quickly shifted the conversation by asking Karim about his plans after the show.
All episodes of Love is Blind Habibi are available on Netflix.
