Although we’re huge Love is Blind UK fans, we have to admit we feel a bit sorry for the season one cast members who got barely any screen time.
The series focused on six couples including Demi Brown and Ollie Sutherland and Nicole Stevens and Benaiah Grunewald Brydie, but fellow cast member Shirley Bekker recently let slip that five more couples got engaged in scenes that never made it to the final edit.
One of the cast members who viewers never got to know properly was Jake Singleton-Hall, but it seems that he’s got his happy ending after all as it was revealed last month that he’s been dating Catherine Richards – who was with Freddie Powell on the show – for the past year.
Who did Jake date in the Love is Blind UK pods?
Although Jake’s journey in the pods wasn’t shown on screen, it seems like he had quite a turbulent time. As well as getting to know Catherine, Jake also formed a connection with another cast member called Ella. He stopped all his relationships with other girls after she told him she wanted to be with him, but she’d also been seeing another cast member called Connor.
According to Jake, he told Ella about losing his mum in 2021 but she changed her mind and decided she would rather be with Connor shortly after he opened up. Things then took another turn when Connor told Jake he wouldn’t be asking Ella to marry him and then Ella met up with Jake and proposed to him.
Jake and Ella were together for a few weeks after this, but their relationship came to an end shortly after. Ella claimed Jake had “ghosted” her, but he insisted he invited her to his house to break up and even wanted to be friends after. Ella also hinted there could have been a “crossover” between Jake’s relationship with her and him getting together with Catherine, although this is something he denies.
How did Jake and Catherine from Love is Blind UK get together?
Speaking about how she ended up dating Jake after the experiment, Catherine explained, “So I reached out to him. I hadn’t seen him. I only saw Freddie and the couples on the retreat, so I saw him on socials, and I was like, ‘I wonder if he’s the one from the show’, so I messaged him.
“I was like, ‘hey, like, just want to check in, are you okay?’ Because I was in the girl lounge with his fiancée and I just knew the drama that was going on that was crazy. And he messaged me, and he was like, ‘Who is this?’ And I was like, Cat. And he was like, ‘Oh my God’, because he didn’t know what I look like!”
They caught up on FaceTime for five hours and spoke “every day for five weeks” before she went to visit him for the weekend and they’ve been together ever since.
Are Jake and Catherine from Love is Blind UK still together?
Yep, Catherine moved in with Jake his dog not long after filming ended and they’re still together to this day. They regularly shared loved-up snaps on Instagram.
