Love is Blind, a social experiment tests participants on forming a strong bond with their potential partners during their time in the pods. Once the couples are engaged they meet face to face and live together until the wedding day arrives. This gives them the opportunity to see whether they are compatible physically and emotionally in the real world.
Season 7 couple Monica and Stephan formed a meaningful connection until Monica found Stephan texting with another woman while they were engaged. Previously, Stephan had admitted to cheating on one of his partners, upon hearing this Monica was empathetic and understanding. However, things took a drastic turn when the Love is Blind cast member found out about Stephan s*xting another woman.
In a conversation with the show hosts on the October 10, 2024 episode of The Viall Files podcast, Monica shared she was “not expecting” this from Stephan, she said:
“This was something I was not expecting from this person, really at all.”

While elaborating on what had happened, the Love is Blind star Monica shared that she was expecting a text from another couple this season Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans who planned on making everyone “fall cookies.” So, while Stephen was in the bathroom, his phone chimed in and Monica thought that the text was from Garrett but instead, the notification was from a girl, she explained:
“And I said, ‘Oh, babe, like Garrett just texted, I’m gonna respond. It’s about the cookies, And I went to go, click the message, and next thing you know, I’m in his text, and I see a girl’s name…”
Then Monica went through the text chain in which Stephan had exchanged s*xual texts with a woman. Stephan admitted that he had “never been able to find someone who satisfies his kinks” in his messages as well. The Love is Blind contestant Monica was shocked, she further narrated:
“Even right after it all went down, I didn’t even remember the girl’s name. Truly, I do remember seeing, like, really kinky, dirty talk, like one specific message was just talking about how he’s never been been able to find someone who’s satisfies his kinks, the way that she does.”
However, Monica clarified that she was not “kink-shaming” but couldn’t believe she and Stephan were about to get married. She said that Stephan was about to meet her dad and ask for her hand in marriage, which is why it didn’t make sense to her about him being disloyal. Monica said:
“I’m not kink-shaming. I’ve been accused of kink-shaming already. I just didn’t know that this was the person I was, you know, that I was sharing a bed with.”
After confronting Stephan, Monia pressed feelings of “embarrassment” that she trusted her soon-to-be husband completely and gave him her heart. Stephan was apologetic for his behavior and admitted his mistake while stating he shouldn’t have wasted her time or signed up for this social experiment.

In an exclusive interview with People Magazine on October 9, 2024, the Love is Blind contestant implied he was unsure if he had “fully healed” from his past relationships until he stepped into a new one. He also joked about advising others to set a password on their phones.
