🔥 Full coverage and conversation on Love Is Blind

Love Is Blind‘s Marissa George opened up about what life has been like after the cameras stopped rolling with Ramses Prashad, and where their relationship stands today.

Season 7 has been filled with tears, laughs, unexpected matches, WTF moments, and more, so calling the most recent contestants entertaining would be an understatement.

One of the most memorable matches was between Marissa and Ramses. The two instantly clicked in the pods and seemed enamored with each other when they finally met face-to-face.

But when they spent real time together outside of the pods, cracks soon began to show in their fairytale love story. Their views on certain things like political issues, contraceptives, and marriage in general began to form a wedge between them.

And when it came down to decide whether they were going to take that final step and walk down the aisle, Ramses shocked Marissa by telling her he didn’t want to get married. This scene was extremely emotional to watch, because there was heartbreak written all over Marissa’s face. Despite offering to try to work things out, they were unable to come to an agreement.

Now, in a new interview with Glamour, Marissa gave fans an update on what her relationship with Ramses has been like since filming stopped and what really went down during that passionate breakup scene.

“I offered to not get married,” said the 32-year-old lawyer. “We can stay engaged, or we can do everything on our own timeline. We don’t have to move in immediately. That was never the plan anyway. We don’t have to be engaged to date. It was a hard no.” In fact, his exact words were, “No, absolutely not.”

“Throughout the whole breakup — which made it worse — he couldn’t really give me a reason. To this day, I don’t know if he really has a good reason. I think he has tried to pinpoint certain things, like that I listened to podcasts in the morning and I sing in the shower type of stuff,” Marissa added.

“But at the time of the breakup, he was just like, ‘I don’t feel at peace anymore, and I feel like our energies [are] off and I’m gonna hurt you in five years, but I love you and want to be with you, but this is moving too fast.’”

At the time of the breakup, Marissa was hoping to work on their differences and compromise. She explained that they could take things slow, while living in their respective cities (Ramses in DC, Marissa in Baltimore), but Ramses seemed unwilling to try.

She didn’t understand how someone who claims to love her wouldn’t want to be with her. Marissa then started blaming herself, because Ramses mentioned their energies were off.

“We saw each other a few times after. I took the breakup really hard, as you can imagine from the scene of me crying and stuff. It took me probably six months to get back on track and to really start to move on. So I saw him a few times when I was in DC, and there was one time where we talked one day for, like, eight-and-a-half, nine hours on the phone, and I thought we were gonna get back together after that.”

“So, like, February or March, I did ask him if he wanted to get back together. I’m not really ashamed to say that, because I’m someone who’s like, if you feel it, you feel it, like, what’s the worst that can happen? And he’s like, ‘Nah.’ So after that, we just stopped communication,” she added.
