Love Is Blind stars Leo Baudy and Brittany Wisniewski shared the reason why they broke up shortly after getting engaged in the pods on season seven of the Netflix series.
Love was blind short-lived for Leo Baudy and Brittany Wisniewski.
The Love Is Blind stars—who got engaged during season seven of the Netflix show—shared why they ultimately called it quits after leaving the pods and jetting off to Miami for a romantic vacation.
“Honestly, the first few days, we had so much fun,” Brittany told People in an interview published Oct. 2. “You have freedom, you’re just out and about, you have your phone, and you’re just talking about all the good times that you just had. And then things start to get real.”
After the excitement wore off, Leo recalled realizing the weight of choosing to spend the rest of their lives together.
“As things settle down, you’re kind of like, ‘OK, we’re here. You’re wearing my ring on your finger. Let’s talk about this,'” he explained. “We had a lot of conversations throughout the trip, and mutually came to the conclusion that we just didn’t see it turning into marriage.”
So, what was missing from the relationship? As Brittany put it, “The physical connection just simply wasn’t there, honestly.”
“We had a talk in the beginning about how this could work,” the 33-year-old continued, “and then time went on during the trip and the chemistry just wasn’t there and we mutually felt that.”
In fact, Brittany said the pair had “long, deep talks about spirituality,” but she ultimately put him in the friendzone, telling Netflix’s Tudum in an interview published Oct. 3, “We’d go to bed together, and I’m like, ‘Nothing here.’”
But there’s no hard feelings for the pair, who weren’t selected as one of the six couples to continue their romantic journey in Mexico after leaving the pods. In fact, Brittany now considers Leo a “friend for life.”
“This could have gone so badly,” Brittany told Tudum, “but it didn’t.”
As for Leo? The art dealer—who also formed a connection with contestant Hannah Jiles in the pods before the pair broke it off in a heated exchange—admitted to having some regrets about his time on the reality series, though none of them include Brittany.
“Lesson one, go to therapy before you go on a national reality dating show, not after,” Leo quipped in an Oct. 8 TikTok video. “Lesson two: One slow deep breath before you speak could drastically alter the course of your life. And lesson three: If you happen to be so blessed as to own a Rolex, do not wear that s–t on TV.”
Closing out his video, he joked, “That concludes today’s class.”
Episodes one through six of Love Is Blind season seven are currently streaming on Netflix. The second batch drops Oct. 9. While you wait, check in on more couples from the franchise who did—or didn’t—stand the test of time.
