“Love Is Blind: UK” alum Ollie Sutherland is dating someone from the show — but not the person he was engaged to originally.
Ollie and Demi Brown got engaged, sight unseen, in the pods, but decided to split up at the altar. They confirmed at the Aug. 26 reunion that the relationship was done.
Ollie had another piece of news: He was seeing Sharlotte Ritchie, whom he met in the pods.
Wondering how their romance bloomed after the show stopped filming? Here’s what they shared.
Who is Sharlotte Ritchie?
Sharlotte is a 35-year-old global communications director, per her official bio. She didn’t get much, if any, screen time.
Wait, did Ollie and Sharlotte even date in the pods?
According to the footage that ended up in the final cut of the show, Ollie had connections with Demi and Catherine Richards.
Turns out Ollie had a relationship with Sharlotte as well.
While appearing on an episode of the YouTube series “Jess A Couple Things,” Ollie revealed that his dates with Sharlotte were cut from the series despite their “strong connection.”
“She was a little bit more withdrawn than she would be in real life, so I wasn’t really feeling the same kind of buzz as I would be outside,” he said.
Ollie said that Sharlotte decided to go home when he broke things off with her.
When did Ollie and Sharlotte meet face-to-face?
Ollie said he met Sharlotte for the first time at a gathering between the engaged couples and other cast members.
On the YouTube interview, Ollie said he was “attracted” to her and his head “spun” when they met.
“I had a conversation with her, and then afterward, Aaron (my castmate) was like, ‘What’s good?’ and then I’m like, ‘Don’t get me wrong, she’s stunning but I’m good with Demi,'” he said during his appearance on “Jess A Couple Things.”
At the reunion, Ollie said he and Sharlotte connected “outside the experiment” when filming wrapped.
Are Ollie and Demi officially dating?
When asked about his relationship with Sharlotte at the reunion, Ollie playfully tried to avoid answering by taking a sip of his drink.
Demi joined in on the grilling and seemed to indicate her support. “I love Sharlotte. Ollie’s not my guy. He’s a good guy. Is he your guy, Sharlotte?” she asked.
In the crowd, Sharlotte laughed and explained their connection, saying, “Genuinely, I don’t think I could’ve gotten through the last few weeks having to watch what I watched without having (Sutherland) as the perfect support. So I’ve got a lot of gratitude for him and it remains complicated. But yeah, we’re in a good spot.”
Ollie then explained that they “didn’t jump from the show to each other.”
“We tried to handle it as respectfully as possible but it was hard to deny the connection that we had and the attraction that we had for one another,” he said. “And yeah, she’s an amazing person, beautiful inside and out. And I love spending time with her.”
While he wouldn’t exactly define the relationship, Ollie said, “Watch this space. That’s what I’m saying.”
What has Demi said about the relationship?
On an episode of the “Reality with Will Njobvu” podcast, Demi said she saw Sharlotte at a party shortly after the “Love Is Blind” weddings.
A few months later, Demi told Ollie to “respectfully leave me alone” so she could heal. Meanwhile, Brown and Ritchie had a mutual friend but never really saw each other, so Brown suspected that was because Ritchie was dating Sutherland.
Right before the show aired, Demi said Sharlotte invited her to go on a walk. While talking, Sharlotte shared that she was romantically involved with Ollie.
“In that moment, I respected it a lot because you know, it’s nice to know what’s going on,” Demi said.
Ollie hadn’t told her about his relationship with Sharlotte.
“Wish them all the best, but I think out of respect to myself, there won’t be no friendship with Ollie. There’s not going to be no friendship with Sharlotte,” she said.
