They spent two days off-camera together.
Love Is Blind UK’s Sam Klein (ya know, the one from London) has revealed what happened in the days when he and Nicole Stevens were engaged prior to ultimately calling off their relationship.
Onscreen, we saw Nicole telling the camera that she didn’t feel a connection with Sam, and instead wanted to pursue things with Benaiah Grunewald Brydie, who she eventually went on to marry.
But what actually happened between Nicole and Sam when they weren’t in the pods? “We went home and we spent two days together,” he told The Sun. “We had a cheeky Nando’s, she spoke to my parents on the phone, and I was like, ‘Dad, look, you know, this is bizarre, but I guess I’ve got a fiancée!’ I spoke to her sister on the phone, we were all FaceTiming. We went out for dinner with other cast members from the show, we had a great time…but there was no chemistry there. It was more like friends.”
The reality star then went on to explain how different things felt in the “real world” versus being in the pods and how he struggled to adapt to having a fiancée. “Like, what do you do? Is she a girlfriend? Is she a fiancée? Do you take the ring back and then just say, let’s try dating? We didn’t know what to do, really. I guess no one would know what to do in that situation because it’s so bizarre. So we decided to ease off. It was just normal, like a friend staying, but there was no sexual chemistry, unfortunately. By the end of the two days, we decided to go our separate ways, and she left.”
During the Love Is Blind UK reunion, Nicole and Benaiah revealed they had been happily married for a year, while Sam shared that he “learned a lot about myself” since the show aired. So all’s well that ends well, eh?
