Love Is Blind UK’s Freddie Powell has opened up about his ex, Catherine Richard’s new relationship. The 32-year-old was set to wed Catherine after they hit it off in the pods, however, he decided against it when he got to the altar. Explaining his decision for not saying “I do,” Freddie confessed that—even though he loved her—he didn’t think the “timing” was right for them.
Despite being an initial blow for Catherine, who was willing to go through with the marriage, the 30-year-old recently revealed that she’s been in a happy relationship with someone else for the past year. That special someone is fellow contestant Jake Singleton-Hill!
Reflecting on how he feels about Catherine and Jake’s relationship, which the couple confirmed on social media in a gushing post, Freddie told Mail Online, “I found out about it quite early on, to be honest, so not long after we broke up, maybe a couple weeks after, I found out she had been on dates with him.”
The funeral director then admitted that he doesn’t “really [have] anything to say” about the couple, other than that “as long as [Catherine’s] happy, and he’s [Jake] happy,” he hopes “it works for them.”
Oh, and when asked whether he thought romance could blossom with anyone else he met in the pods, Freddie responded, “I wouldn’t choose to, personally. I pursued Cat, and that was my journey. I think you can meet anyone anywhere.”
