The inaugural season of Love Is Blind: UK was a whirlwind of emotions, as singles searched for deep connections without ever seeing each other. By the end of episode 4, six couples emerged from the pods engaged, ready to take on the next chapter of their journey.

The social experiment, which has captivated viewers since the first season of Love is Blind in 2020, brought the fan-favorite dating model overseas — leading to some unexpected bonds, love triangles and inevitable drama. As the couples moved from the pods to real life, the stakes grew higher and their relationships were put to the test.

Each pair faced unique challenges as they navigated the complexities of merging lives, meeting families and planning a wedding. In the season finale, released on Aug. 21, the couples stood at the altar, ready to answer the ultimate question of commitment. With the Love Is Blind: UK reunion premiering on Aug. 26, fans are eager to get closure from the couples who left the altar uncertain.

Now that the dust has settled, let’s dive into the couples on Love is Blind UK season 1, from their first sparks to their wedding day, and where they stand now.

Who got married?

Sabrina and Steven

Steven and Sabrina’s love story was the first to unfold on-screen, with the couple quickly falling in love and getting engaged.

During their time in the pods, the two remained focused on each other, continuing to solidify their connection as they bonded over heartbreak, values and plans for the future.

Their only point of contention was whether to have children, with Steven saying he always envisioned a “mini-me” and Sabrina emphasizing that she thought a strong foundation with her partner was more important. Eventually, they discussed a realistic timeline involving surrogacy or adoption.

By the end of the first episode, Steven was already on one knee and the couple got engaged.

While the two faced challenges after vacationing in Greece, including the question of whether to move to London or Sabrina’s home in Belfast and Sabrina’s family expressing concern that their relationship may be a little “too perfect,” the pair remained strong in their commitment.

On their wedding day, the pair exchanged heartfelt vows, with Steven promising to make Sabrina his “number one” and Sabrina declaring, “In your arms, I have found a home.”

Each gave a resounding “I do,” and were celebrated by their friends and family. “I’m overwhelmed with love and happiness and gratitude right now,” Sabrina said.

Bobby and Jasmine

Bobby and Jasmine were among the couples who left the pods hand-in-hand. Jasmine, a nurse from London, spoke of being deeply hurt in relationships in the past, and sought a partner who made her feel safe. She quickly formed a connection with Bobby, who admitted that from the “start” Jasmine was “the girl for me.”

After rapping a poem divulging his feelings, the luxury shopping guide proposed, and Jasmine eagerly accepted. Their journey had its challenges, including Jasmine’s protective mother, who raised concerns about Bobby’s education and ability to provide financially.

Still, Jasmine maintained her devotion to Bobby, and the pair both said “I do” at their wedding. Jasmine’s mother, initially unsure, ultimately gave her blessing and got emotional at the ceremony.

“There were worries but they look so happy together,” she said. “My God, I can’t stop crying.” Bobby assured Jasmine’s mother that he would take good care of her daughter, to which she responded, “Love you.”

After the ceremony, Jasmine expressed gratitude and joy about her relationship with Bobby, calling it a “forever type of love.”

Nicole and Benaiah

Nicole and Benaiah connected quickly in the pods, with a shared sense of spirituality and Benaiah’s sense of humor winning Nicole over. However, the couple’s dynamic was met with doubt as Nicole, who was also forming a connection with Sam, felt Benaiah couldn’t give her the reassurance she needed. Meanwhile, Benaiah expressed doubts about Sam’s intentions, believing he was there for fame, not love. When Nicole confronted Sam, he pleaded for her to “just trust” him.

Ultimately, Nicole accepted Sam’s proposal — only to break things off when they got to Greece and reconnect with Benaiah back in the U.K. Upon their rekindling, Benaiah proposed, and the couple joined their other engaged castmates in Greece.

The pair’s relationship flourished during the romantic getaway and back in London. Despite lingering concerns about Nicole’s former engagement to Sam and doubts about Benaiah’s nomad lifestyle, the couple’s connection remained strong, and they both said “I do” in the finale.

At their wedding, Nicole and Benaiah exchanged heartfelt vows, acknowledging the challenges they had faced along the way but also, their ultimate devotion to each other.

“Everything’s at peace in my heart,” Nicole said after the ceremony, to which Benaiah said, “Me too.”

Who said no at the altar?

Tom and Maria

Tom and Maria clicked in the pods, forming a deep emotional connection from the start. However, they hit their first major bump when discussing future family plans, with Maria saying she envisioned having a more “traditional” stay-at-home role after having kids, which clashed with Tom’s views of an equal working partnership.

Despite the hiccup, they continued to connect, with Maria telling Tom he was her No. 1 pick. However, Tom responded that he didn’t have a front-runner at that point, as he was also connecting with another contestant, Natasha.

Ultimately, he quickly prioritized his emotional and intellectual bond with Maria, confident that their chemistry would translate physically as well, and Tom proposed.

Tom and Maria’s relationship cemented further during the trip from the pods to Greece, where their chemistry remained strong. However, upon entering the real world, the couple began to show signs of incompatibility — particularly surrounding finances and gender roles.

Leading up to the wedding, doubt grew when Tom said that his mother’s decision not to attend the wedding troubled him, as her opinion held significant weight. On their wedding day, Maria was emotional yet sure of their relationship, calling Tom her “comfort blanket.” Still, Tom, deeply affected by his mother’s absence, ultimately decided not to go through with the marriage despite his love for her.

“We’ve had some differences in values, and I haven’t had enough time to really understand how those differences will affect our life day-to-day,” he said. Though Maria was devastated and shocked, she acknowledged that it “probably wasn’t the right time” for either of them to get married.

Catherine and Freddie

Freddie, a funeral director, was upfront about his job from the start, admitting it had complicated his dating life. Despite some raised eyebrows from women in the pods, Catherine, a dental nurse, wasn’t fazed. They hit it off right away, bonding over their twice-a-day gym routines.

Despite Catherine’s adjacent blossoming connection with Ollie, she ultimately broke things off with him to focus on Freddie. After getting engaged, the pair seemed to be a perfect match when meeting for the first time.

“You’re stunning … I just can’t wait to do life with you,” Catherine said.

However, issues began to surface during their trip to Greece when Freddie revealed he had cheated on a past partner. Catherine, who had been cheated on before, was shaken. “I respect you telling the truth, but obviously it’s hard to hear,” she said.

Issues persisted when they got back to London, with each accusing the other of having wandering eyes during a group outing with their castmates. The couple also continued to clash as Freddie expressed doubts about their differing lifestyles and suggested a prenup before the wedding.

“I’ve never loved anyone like I’ve loved Freddie … But obviously, we’ve been through so many intense situations,” Catherine said in the days leading up to their ceremony. Ultimately, Catherine said “I do” at the altar. Freddie, however, hesitated. “I love you Cat, but the timing might not be right for us,” he said.

Devastated, Catherine said she felt “really unwanted.”

“I never want to walk down the aisle again,” she said. “I just feel blank.”

Still, Freddie expressed hope for the future, telling Catherine’s parents he still wanted her in his life. Freddie tried to comfort Catherine, asking if she trusted what they had, but she admitted that it’s going to “take a lot” for her to “bounce back.”

Demi and Ollie

Initially bonding over their shared love of boxing, Demi and Ollie quickly fell for each other in the pods. When faced with a choice between Demi and Catherine, Ollie decided that his connection with Demi was stronger and would provide a more solid foundation long term.

“I feel like Catherine’s presenting a very sexual, seductress image, but I’m keen not to base it solely on that because I realize that doesn’t always lead me to the right girl,” Ollie said in a confessional. “Demi’s still playing it a little bit more cool, but straight away there was a vibe, there was an energy there.”

From there, Ollie focused on deepening his connection with Demi, who soon opened up about her struggles with infertility, revealing she has endometriosis.

“Sometimes I just don’t feel like enough, which is really scary,” she said. Ollie reassured her, saying, “You’ve been more than enough … It doesn’t change anything about the way I feel about you or how I feel about our future.”

This breakthrough cemented their connection, and Ollie proposed. Despite their fair share of roadblocks during their trip to Greece and back in London, the couple increasingly seemed more at ease and on track for marriage.

But as the wedding day approached, doubts crept in, particularly for Demi, who confessed, “My head and my heart are not aligned.” When it came time to exchange vows, Demi acknowledged her love for Ollie but ultimately said, “I do not.”

Despite the heartbreak, both expressed gratitude for their journey together, with Ollie remaining hopeful about their future, saying, “This is not the end of Demi and Ollie, not by a long shot.”

Who left the show single?

Sam

Sam entered the pods eager for love, saying he had hopes that the next wedding he attended “would be his own.”

The product design manager built a strong connection with Nicole in the pods, making grand gestures like giving her his lucky bracelet and reassuring her he could provide security in their relationship. When Nicole’s other connection, Benaiah, revealed that he believed Sam wasn’t there “for genuine reasons,” Nicole confronted Sam, who begged for her to trust him.

She decided she did, Sam proposed and the two got engaged — but it didn’t last long. Their initial meeting was somewhat awkward, with Sam mistakenly putting her engagement ring on the wrong finger. When they got to Greece, Nicole ultimately called the engagement off and reconnected with Benaiah.

In their confessionals, both Sam and Nicole acknowledged that “something was off.”

Natasha

Natasha, a careers coordinator from Cheshire, England, formed a strong bond with Tom in the pods. The two had a seemingly effortless connection, with a shared sense of humor and values. However, Tom ultimately breaks things off with Natasha to pursue a relationship with Maria, leaving her heartbroken.

“It’s hard to talk about because I understand where he’s coming from in terms of logic,” she said after the breakup. “But there’s this undeniable connection that I can’t explain.”

Natasha left the pods single, but her feelings for Tom didn’t fade. At a group outing in London after the engaged castmates’ stint in Greece, Natasha told Tom that “she meant it” when she said she’d fallen in love with him.
