Love Is Blind season 6 standout Jessica Vestal is getting candid about her life after the Netflix show aired. Jessica was a prominent player on the hit show’s past season, despite not getting engaged in the pods.
Jessica, a single mother, formed a connection with Jimmy Presnell, but when he turned her down in favor of his future fiancée, Chelsea Blackwell, Jessica informed her ex that he was going to “choke” when he saw her.
Jessica’s response to Jimmy helped her to become a fan favorite who boasts 950,000 followers on Instagram. She’s set to appear on season 2 of Perfect Match.
But despite, or perhaps due to, this newfound popularity, Jessica says she struggled with her post-show fitness routine.
Snapping a gym selfie in a merlot-colored sports bra and leggings, the reality star wrote, “Slowly getting back into my normal routine + the gym. My social anxiety was so bad after lib premiered, I basically stopped going and lost 8lbs.”
The weight loss was not something Jess wanted, explaining that keeping up with her exercise and fitness is important as she’s in remission for Crohn’s disease.
“I’m more prone to getting sick and having flare ups if I don’t keep weight on, so while it may sound nice to some, it is detrimental for me to have lost weight,” she wrote. “Steadily trying to get back on track.”
The Mayo Clinic defines Crohn’s disease as a type of “inflammatory bowel disease that causes swelling of the tissues in your digestive tract.”
Jess didn’t make it past the pods on Love Is Blind, but she did appear in subsequent episodes of the show when the rest of the cast met up for a face-to-face meeting. She also attended the reunion special, which aired last month, defending herself against her ex, Jimmy’s, claims that she left their final date early.
ET spoke with Jessica directly after filming the reunion, where she said she’d be open to doing a Love Is Blind experiment again.
“I would do this experience again because although the pods are scary there’s also a safe feeling that comes with them,” she explained to ET. “There’s just something about being in the pods that makes you want to share everything about yourself and I feel like that’s the best way to date.”
All six seasons of Love Is Blind are currently streaming on Netflix.
