But receipts out there, including court documents, imply that Tyler wasn’t just a sperm donor as he and Ashley previously stated. The issue has gotten so bad that the show’s creator, Chris Coelen, had to defend their vetting process amid the intense backlash. Here’s why fans believe Tyler and Ashley are lying.
Screenshots And Court Docs Show Tyler’s Involvement With His Three Kids While Filming Love Is Blind
In the text screenshots above, you can see Tyler giving Bri real-time updates while filming Love Is Blind until he stopped responding following his engagement with Ashley. Bri was also updating him about their kids. At one point, she asked him about his wedding to Ashley, which she and their three kids were supposed to attend.
But Tyler seemingly ghosted Bri, with the last text coming from her again, saying: “We should discuss your rights when you find some time so we can get it all over with.”
The Parentage Of Tyler And Bri’s Three Kids |
|
Their First Child, Kyreaux |
Tyler “helped” his “best friend” Bri and her then-wife conceive Kyreaux. But after Bri’s ex-wife left, Tyler himself offered to “step up as a father” to Kyreaux. |
Twins Kali and Kamari |
They are “the results of natural, unplanned intercourse with absolutely no complexities surrounding parentage,” per Bri. The twins were conceived before Kyreaux even turned one. |
Bri, who’s identified as a lesbian most of her life, further revealed that Tyler “was there throughout my entire pregnancy” with the twins, until “the delivery and throughout my entire stay in the hospital after birth.” She also noted that they lived together at that time and that “he signed the birth certificate.”
He cut the umbilical cord. His mom and sister came and visited me in the hospital, visited us in the hospital after the twins were born. Again, there has never been any confusion or additional context surrounding the twins’ origin.
Regarding Tyler’s legal ties to his children, court documents obtained by Life & Style show that Bri filed two separate petitions for change of a minor’s name on February 6. She had reportedly asked the judge to legally change the twins’ last names from Tyler’s to hers. It was then approved on March 19.
While they had insane chemistry, Amber and Barnet did have money issues on Love is Blind.
In October 2021, Bri filed a petition for custody in Baltimore City Circuit Court—proving Tyler’s legal involvement with the kids. It was settled on May 6, 2022. But a petition was filed to reopen the case, three months after LIB Season 7 finished filming in January. The next disposition hearing is scheduled for November 15.
Ashley Is Called “Delusional” For Her Comments About Tyler’s Kids Drama On Nick Viall’s The Viall Files
During the reunion, Tyler insisted that he just “stepped in voluntarily and helped” Bri—making it seem like he had no legal obligations with their kids. “I played a part that became very shaky with a friend,” he added. “There’s no rulebooks [for] this. Ashley knows all of this. This is news to the world, but this has never been news to us. I don’t owe anyone an explanation besides my wife. Those kids, that family, they did not sign up for this.”

Ashley came to their defense, saying the backlash was “insulting to her intelligence,” arguing that Tyler “is a good person, who went in a little too deep and didn’t know what to do next.” But fans started questioning her honesty after her recent appearance on Nick Viall’s podcast, The Viall Files. “I did the welcome the message, I told her ‘I’m surprised, but I welcome this,'” she said of Bri’s public statement.
Because regardless if we never talk to you or the kids again like it’s still a thing and so I wouldn’t mind having us sit down with you like I want to know what the motive is here.
Fans also felt like Ashley wanted Tyler to cut ties with Bri and the kids or that she chooses not to believe the legal documents. “Ashley honey I’m embarrassed for you,” one wrote. “You should’ve probably sat this one out until you did your research. The court documents don’t lie.” Another one said: “She’s talking Tyler’s nonsense and you’re eating it up… You’re delusional and quite frankly, giving evil stepmom right now.”

“Twins made it worse” |
Ashley explained that Tyler stepped in to help Bri with the kids because she was by herself. But later, Tyler “disappointed” Bri after saying he didn’t want to have a connection with her and the kids and that he only “feels a certain way” because they’re his biological kids. |
“He was around but in an uncle capacity” |
Bri “wanted [Tyler] around in a bigger capacity because [back then] she’s by herself which sucks.” Ashley reiterated that Bri and Tyler were only “ex-friends.” Bri is now “engaged with a whole another woman” |
Ashley knew Bri would speak up about her kids with Tyler, but he didn’t |
“I was the one saying, ‘She’s coming I guarantee you’ when he was like, ‘She would never do that She would never do that.’ So there was no conversation with [Bri] or anything.” |
TV personality, Jessie Woo also weighed in on Ashley’s Viall Files interview. Jessie is one of the influential people proving that Ashley and Tyler are not being 100% transparent. In a recent live stream, she even featured a court document showing that Bri was recommended to file a petition against Tyler for “failure to pay child support”, worth $2200 a month, on January 12.
Love Is Blind Creator Chris Coelen Defends The Show’s Vetting Process Amid Ashley And Tyler’s Scandal
Tyler and Ashley are not the only ones under fire following their relationship drama. At one point, fans started criticizing Love Is Blind for its process. But showrunner, Chris Coelen set the record straight with The Hollywood Reporter, saying: “We have a very rigid vetting process. We have background checks and psychological evaluations.”
Everyone in the world has a story and we aren’t the police.
Chris also reminded fans that they “don’t regulate or monitor their conversations, whether they’re being filmed or not.” Tyler was also not told to share or not share anything, as they do not “dictate” what cast members say. The producer also explained that they don’t discriminate “if someone has children or doesn’t have children.”
It seems like Nick D. made a move on another Love Is Blind veteran.
Chris went on to give a compassionate perspective on Tyler’s situation, saying: “If someone has a bad relationship with their mother or someone’s had a certain sexual experience in the past or someone is in debt, all those things are very common for the vast majority of people.” And as Ashley said on The Viall Files, unconditional love is about accepting these parts of a person’s life.
