Love Is Blind UK might be over, but the tea is still spilling. While we know Catherine Richards is now in a relationship with Jake Singleton-hill, his ex-partner has claimed they were engaged for a month after the pods – and that there was crossover between when they were still together, and he started messaging Cat. Eek.

OK, so let’s take this back for a second. Love Is Blind UK launched earlier this year, which sees participants attempt to find their future husband or wife on a series of blind dates, where they can’t see the person they’re talking to.

One couple who successfully made it out of the pods was 29-year-old Catherine, aka Cat, a dental nurse from Jersey, and Freddie, a 32-year-old funeral director from Bolton. While the pair bonded on honeymoon, cracks began to show when they returned to their real lives, with Freddie expressing his concerns that their lifestyles didn’t align.

Eventually on their wedding day, Freddie said ‘I don’t’, leaving Cat devastated. But all was not lost! As she later revealed she’s actually dating someone else from the experiment, aka a 32-year-old civil engineer from Leicestershire.

“I’m with Jake from the pods now,” Cat revealed during an interview with Cosmopolitan UK. “So his story [on the show] was quite dramatic. I just reached out to say, ‘Are you OK?’ because we see a lot of what happens in the girls’ lounge… so I reached out. We were talking for five weeks, and then I went over [to his house], and that’s it.”

Now, another Love Is Blind UK contestant has come forward to reveal they were the one who got engaged to Jake in the pods, but rubbished claims that it was “dramatic”.

Ella, a 27-year-old social worker from Derbyshire, has taken to TikTok to explain how she and Jake got together during the experiment, but things didn’t work out. “I did make a connection, and I did get engaged,” she said. “It’s been branded like he had a really traumatic experience, and I’m sat there like… *rolls eyes*.”

She continued, “Jake is now in a relationship with Cat. The sad thing about it is I took this process very seriously. I took the engagement very seriously. And I’m not quite sure that was reciprocated. Behind a wall, I thought it was. For a while, I thought it was a genuine, incredible thing.

“But we weren’t compatible, and it wasn’t going to work. We were together for about a month. I’m unsure if there was any crossover between him and Cat.”

Her friend replied: “Jake could have been speaking to Cat whilst you were still with Jake, because of how quickly he went to Cat after you.”

Ella continued: “The fact that he basically ghosted me and then I find out that he is dating Cat, I mean that really wasn’t nice. It was super fresh. I genuinely wish them the best.”

Of course, this could not be the exact timeline, and we’re yet to hear Jake and Cat’s side of the story. But seeing as they’ve been together for a year and now live together with a dog, maybe it’s all’s well that ends well?

We have reached out to Jake for comment.
