Jackelina “Jackie” Bonds from Love Is Blind is opening up about her experience on the popular Netflix dating series and sharing what she would do differently if given the chance. In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, the 27-year-old dental assistant reveals her one regret: not having a final conversation with Josh Demas in the pods before accepting Marshall Glaze’s marriage proposal. Reflecting on her time on the show, Jackie admits that this is the only thing she wishes she had done differently.
Despite their experience on Love Is Blind, the television personality explains that she had no doubts about her decision to end her relationship with Marshall. She reflects, “What I did was the right choice for me. Breaking up may have been simple, but perhaps the complexities were more present during our time together.”
Marshall shares a similar perspective on his time on the show, stating, “Taking a look back, I have no regrets.” He continues, “Every situation unfolded for a reason. I hold no animosity or negativity towards anyone. Life is too precious to hold onto grudges or negativity.”
The tensions between the couple reached a breaking point in episode 10. Jackie skipped her wedding dress fitting to meet up with Josh for coffee, causing Marshall to confront her when she returned home. He questioned why she accepted his proposal, to which she responded by explaining that the connection they had in the pods felt real, but the outside world had affected their relationship. Feeling emotionally drained, Jackie confessed that she tried her best to answer Marshall’s questions but couldn’t fulfill his expectations. However, Marshall claimed that he never demanded anything from her and accused her of always dictating the terms of their relationship. In a candid moment, Jackie admitted that she couldn’t love Marshall because she had developed feelings for Josh. Hearing this revelation hurt Marshall deeply, and he asked for the engagement ring back, as he believed she didn’t deserve it for accepting his proposal. Jackie, on the other hand, insisted on keeping the ring, claiming that she genuinely wanted to marry him and that her feelings expressed in the pods were sincere. The situation left them both hurt and confused. To stay updated on the latest news and stories from PEOPLE, remember to sign up for their free daily newsletter.
