“Couldn’t see a future”— Love is Blind season 7 contestant Ramses explains why he broke up with Marissa

After the couples got engaged, they met face-to-face and stepped into the real world together. This was a test for the contestants to see whether their relationship can survive with day-to-day problems.

One of the Love is Blind couples who were ready to get married was Ramses and Marissa. However, a few days before the wedding, during the finale episode, Ramses broke off the engagement. He told Marissa that their energy was clashing which might be an issue in the future leading to incompatibility.

As per the Tudum by Netflix October 31, 2024 article, Ramses explained he couldn’t see a future where he was overwhelmed. He explained the difference in his and Marissa’s energies:

“Marissa is just someone that lives very loud and from 8 a.m. in the morning she wakes up, blasts her podcast, and sings in the shower. When I’m at home, I need that to be my sanctuary. I couldn’t see a future moving forward where I’m just overwhelmed and feeling exhausted.”

The Love is Blind season 7 star Ramses explained why he decided to end things with Marissa a few days before the wedding. He shared that their energies were clashing and that he couldn’t see a future where he would be “overwhelmed.” Ramses admitted to falling in love with Marissa but other aspects of their relationship didn’t align with him. He elaborated:

“I genuinely fell in love with her, but there has to be other things that align in order for the relationship dynamic to work for me. The thing that really drew me to her, which was just her bubbly energy, ended up becoming the thing that pushed me away.”

Ramses also shared an update that he was single and was putting effort into maintaining platonic relationships in his life. However, he did go on dates after the show’s filming ended but later decided to take a break from romance. Marissa and Ramses both shared they got in touch with one another after the breakup and were struggling to move on because of it. As per the Love is Blind star, he was interrupting the healing journey, he said:

“I just wanted her to be very clear about where I stood because it was very difficult for her. She struggled a lot and I saw it firsthand. Still being in the picture wasn’t allowing her to move forward and find the closure that she needed. If someday we can arrive at a place where we have a healthy friendship, that’d be great, but that just requires time.”

Acknowledging his mistake of abruptly ending the relationship before the wedding, Ramses wished that had not happened. Ramses shared he should’ve communicated this before the wedding preparations to avoid a “messy” breakup so Marissa didn’t feel “blindsided.” He continued:

“I wish there was something I could have done to prevent the messy breakup where just Marissa felt like she was caught off guard.”
