Bartise Bowden says fatherhood is a “blessing and it’s a wild ride every single day”
Bartise Bowden can’t wait for his fellow Love Is Blind castmates Alexa and Brennon Lemieux to join the parenthood club.
The 27-year-old, who welcomed his son Hayden in December 2022, tells PEOPLE that “knowing how sweet he is,” he believes Brennon will be the “best father.” “I know Brennon is such a sweetheart and a soft gentleman, so he’s going to be a great dad to their future child.”
On Friday, PEOPLE exclusively announced that the Lemieuxs – who got married on season 3 of Love Is Blind – are expecting their first baby together.
“I was put on this earth to be a mom … That’s all I ever wanted to be,” Alexa, 29, told PEOPLE, as Brennon, 33, added, “It was a long journey and we’ve been trying for so long … there’s so many emotions the entire time.”

Besides stocking up on diapers, wipes, clothes and food — “baby food’s expensive, man,” Bowden says with a laugh — the Love Is Blind alum has one word of advice for the parents-to-be: “patience.”
“It’s a blessing and it’s a wild ride every single day. It’s a lot handling a toddler, but they will have plenty of help with Alexa and her family- I know them. They’re all going to be good… I’m excited for them,” he shares.
Bowden is also looking forward to raising kids alongside one another. “We’re going to have play dates,” he tells PEOPLE. “They don’t live too far from me, so we’ll probably have some play dates in the future…me and Brennon talk about being T-ball coaches together, so that’d be pretty cool.”
“It’s crazy that we had these conversations two and a half years ago and we are here now,” he adds of his friendship with Brennon.
Bowden’s son recently celebrated his first birthday in December. “We had a birthday party for him – a basketball-themed party,” he says. “He’s a big boy, he just started walking.”
In his one year with Hayden, the Perfect Match star says his favorite milestone was hearing his son say “Dada” for the first time.
“I think Dada was my favorite moment and he says it all of the time now- it’s his main word. But also when he started to look up and recognize me and reach for me, that is my favorite moment of being a father. So it’s a good feeling… milestones.”
In terms of finding love while parenting, Bowden jokes that he is “looking for Hayden’s stepmom.” “I’m focused on parenting, but I wouldn’t shy away from a relationship or getting to know somebody seriously.”
Bowden is enjoying this season of life and how it has changed him. “I hope that every man can experience fatherhood,” he says. “I’m so lucky to have Hayden in my life and it’s definitely changed me as a person.”
