Golden Bachelorette star admits words about Chock Chapple were ‘out of line’ as both men courted Joan Vassos

The Golden Bachelorette personality Pascal Ibgui on Instagram Sunday said he was sorry over remarks he made about fellow contestant Chock Chapple.

Ibgui, 69, withdrew from the series late last month, after saying he didn’t have strong feelings for Joan Vassos, 61.

He likened Chapple, 60, to a ‘stalker’ in a chat with Glamour published shortly thereafter.

In the interview, Ibgui, a Chicago-based salon owner, was asked about how Chapple, a Wichita, Kansas-based insurance executive, ‘rubbed some people the wrong way’ during a group bowling date broadcast during the season’s fifth episode.

‘Chock was all over her to the point where he was [like a] stalker,’ Ibgui said. ‘I mean, it was like, “I love you, let’s leave. Let’s do this, let’s do that.” And, “Which side of the bed are you sleeping on? … I can’t wait to be with you. I feel my love with you.”

The Golden Bachelorette personality Pascal Ibgui, 69, on Sunday said in a clip he posted online that he was sorry over remarks he made about fellow contestant Chock Chapple, 60

Ibgui said that Chapple exhibited ‘bizarre behavior,’ adding, ‘Maybe in Wichita there [are] no women.’

Ibgui had a clear change of tune Sunday, saying he was ‘taking responsibility’ for his words and wished the remaining participants – Chapple and Guy Gansert, 66, – the ‘best of luck.’

Ibgui said, ‘The most important is I want to apologize to Chock: Me calling him a stalker was out of line, inappropriate, uncalled for and definitely the wrong use of word.

‘So please, Chock, accept my apology.’

In the clip, Ibgui described his time on the series as ‘an incredible experience’ in which he ‘had the chance to meet some incredible gentlemen along the way.

‘I wanted to make this video because I want to thank Bachelor Nation, to include me in the first Golden Bachelorette season. Again, thanks Bachelor Nation for the incredible time we spent together.

Ibgui said he ‘will always be a member’ of Bachelor Nation and is ‘so grateful’ to be able to say so.

Ibgui withdrew from the series on the October 30 episode, after saying he didn’t have strong feelings for Joan Vassos, 61, who was pictured on last week’s episode

Ibgui, Chapple and Gansert made the show’s final three, going on dates in the fantasy suites.

Vassos told Entertainment Weekly that she felt ‘things were off’ between her and Ibgui in their final date, which was centered around a Tahitian bonding ceremony.

‘It was long and it was hot … he couldn’t get out of there fast enough,’ Vassos said. ‘I felt the same way, honestly.’
