In an interview with Us Weekly on November 1, Hannah reflected on her reaction to Nick’s comment. She stated,
“I feel like the grenade thing would be only something that Nick would say.”
Hannah sensed a lack of sexual attraction from Nick during their time together. While she found Nick’s remarks upsetting, she also expressed that she wasn’t surprised by them, saying,
“He would make comments off camera where I kind of knew [that] we weren’t sexually compatible — like, it just wasn’t working. And so when I heard that…..I think it just pissed me off because I was so honest about his looks.”
Hannah acknowledged her comments regarding Nick’s height after they met outside the pods, indicating that both had expressed dissatisfaction with each other’s appearances.
Hannah described herself as direct, contrasting with Nick’s more reserved approach. Contributing to their challenges in connecting, she noted,
“He feels the exact same way I feel, but he does it secretly or tells his friends,”
In their initial meetings in Mexico, Hannah expressed her concerns directly to Nick. She stated her disappointment about his height while acknowledging his attractiveness. This frankness was met with Nick’s comment about feeling “love at first sight,” which further complicated their communication.
Hannah suggested that greater honesty from Nick could have improved their relationship. She shared that if he had openly expressed that she was not his conventional type but still wanted to make it work, then it might have clarified their situation. Indicating that such dialogue could have reduced confusion about their feelings, she said,
“I would’ve respected that…I don’t think that would’ve hurt my feelings…I think I would’ve understood it a little bit better instead of being so confused.”
Moving forward
Hannah affirmed her feelings for Nick. However, she recognized that the difficulties in their relationship ultimately led to their breakup. She highlighted that their time together had both positive and negative aspects, but the challenges overshadowed the good moments.
After their split, Hannah discovered a list of Nick’s “90-day goals,” which included aspirations related to the show. This revelation occurred shortly after their breakup, further complicating her feelings toward Nick, she recalled,
“I found the note about his 90-day goals right after we had broken up,”
Following this, she invited Nick over to explore their compatibility but ultimately concluded that they were not a match. Consequently, she has chosen to block Nick from her life due to the negative comments she heard from others about him.
