Including which couples are still going strong.
The Love is Blind UK reunion has arrived on Netflix, bringing with it several revelations and heartbreaks along the way. Checking back in on the couples one year on from the experiment, the reunion wasted no time in dropping some major updates on where the couples were at with their relationships and everything in between.
Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the reunion episode was filmed in August this year, so it gives viewers a pretty up to date picture of where things are at in the pod squad’s lives now.
So are the couples who said “I do” still together now? Is Jasmine’s mum still not a fan of Bobby? Can Nicole pronounce her new surname yet? We have all the answers to your burning questions and then some – these are the nine key takeaways from the Love is Blind UK reunion you need to know about.
Demi and Ollie are done, but Ollie’s seeing another pod squad member
Starting off with a pretty major update, though the wedding episode left things open for the Demi and Ollie, it was clear that the two were finished with their relationship from the outset of the reunion given that they were sat on different sofas.
We’re pleased to report that it didn’t seem like there was any bad vibes between the pair though, with Demi saying “Ollie’s a good guy, but he’s not my guy.”
Ollie added, “It was the right thing for us.”
Demi also expressed that she wasn’t thrilled with Catherine’s comments in the pods passing judgement over whether her and Ollie would work on the outside.
While Ollie may not have been the right person for Demi, over the reunion episode it was also revealed that he was seeing fellow pod quad member Sharlotte who initially caught his eye at the mixer event.
Though Ollie was fairly coy about everything, he did say that he and Sharlotte had “explored [their] connection outside of the experiment”. Iiiinteresting.
“Genuinely, I don’t think I could have got through the last few weeks, having to watch what I’ve watched, without him as the perfect support. And so I’ve got a lot of gratitude for him and it remains complicated. We’re in a good spot.”
Ollie added that the pair hadn’t just “jumped from the show to each other” and handled it as “respectfully as possible”, though it was hard to deny the connection and attraction the two had for one another.
Regardless, it’s clear that Demi 2.0 is also living her best life, so we’re pleased for each of them!
Sabrina and Steven didn’t work on the outside
It was immediately clear that Sabrina and Steven didn’t work out given that the pair were sitting on separate sofas, and the reason why unravelled fairly quickly when the couple opened up about their relationship since their wedding day.
Sabrina spoke about their struggles trying to make a long distance relationship work, saying “The communication was awful. There was no consistency in Steven’s behaviour towards me and the relationship.”
Steven added that the two had “underestimated” the issues that would arise from being long distance, with him explaining that their “communication expectations were different.”
Sabrina expressed that she felt she had tried to make it work, travelling seven times to see Steven while he had visited Belfast just twice.
She added, “I was trying to do everything I could to make the relationship work, and I just felt like you made zero accommodations in your life for me or our relationship.”
While we’re sad things didn’t work out for the pair, it seems like this was ultimately the right decision for the couple.
Tom and Maria are “ok”
Things between Tom and Maria were clearly somewhat strained, with the two acknowledging what an emotional day their wedding was for them both, though asserting that some fundamental differences in values meant that, in Tom’s words, “longer term it was going to be very difficult to make it work.”
On Tom’s earlier statement following their wedding about how they wanted to raise their kids differently, Maria said she felt he was indirectly insulting her family.
Tom said that he felt he had demonstrated some “ugly behaviour” and spent time reflecting on this following the experiment, with him saying he wished that he’d treated Maria better.
When asked by Matt and Emma Willis on where they’re at with one another now they were met with deafening silence. Eek.
When further pressed if the two were still friends, Maria responded with “we’re ok”.
Right. We have no follow-up questions!
Bobby and Jasmine are adorable as ever
Bobby and Jasmine were couple goals at the Love is Blind reunion, holding hands and clearly as loved up as ever. Bobby described their first year of marriage as the “best year of [his] life so far”, while Jasmine echoed this, saying “I feel like we’re best friends” and revealing that the two have a dream home which they share together.
During the reunion episode we were treated to the cutest montage of the couple’s year together, featuring their first Christmas, Valentine’s and general day-to-day life. Safe to say, Jasmine and Bobby (or should we say Booby) are in a great place and are still going strong now.
Perhaps most importantly of all, the cameo also gave us a BTS look at where Body of a Dancer was recorded, while mother Maria was in the crowd to confirm that Bobby now has her “110%” seal of approval.
Bobby and Jasmine also revealed that they’re hoping to have kids and are “working on it” already! We love this for them.
Freddie explained why he got Catherine those wedding earrings
Despite Freddie being told by a psychic that he would end up with someone whose name began with a “C”, it looks like it’s not set to be Catherine, with the couple confirming that they’re no longer together anymore.
Freddie expressed that at times he felt he couldn’t be himself in the relationship, while Catherine agreed, saying “In terms of our differences, yeah I think we did live a different life, but gosh I have never laughed so much over this guy.”
When asked why he got Catherine earrings for their wedding day, Freddie explained “I feel like if I didn’t get the earrings it would have been frowned upon that I didn’t get [her] a present, and if I did get [her] the earrings it would have been seen as ‘he’s misled me’”.
And if you’re wondering whether Catherine’s still holding on to them, we can confirm that she gave them back when the couple split.
Tash made a cameo
Tom’s other Love is Blind UK connection Tash made an appearance at the reunion alongside the rest of the pod squad, saying “I was completely in love with him,” though after watching the series and seeing his connection with Maria, it provided her a certain amount of “clarity” and “closure” to allow her to move on.
Tom added that the pair hadn’t had any contact since, with Maria clarifying that there are no bad feelings between her and Tash.
Benaiah and Nicole are still an item
Ok, true love does exist!
The couple confirmed they’re living together, with Benaiah saying she’s been “great for him” and he loves her “more and more each day”. Aww!
We’re also pleased to report that Nicole can in fact now pronounce her new surname, though if in doubt you can call her Mrs GB.
We were also treated to an adorable a video of the couple’s first year of marriage which looked to be filled with joy, a Marrakech trip, their first Christmas together and generally wholesome vibes. Obsessed.
On their future together, the couple said they have a trip to Ghana planned and a “future of happiness”!
Demi told Sam to apologise to Nicole
Nicole’s old flame Sam also made an appearance at the Love is Blind UK reunion.
When asked about how the past few weeks had been for Sam after the strong reaction he elicited from viewers, Sam said “The last few weeks of my life have not been great. It’s been quite a lot of backlash and it’s been a lot for anyone to handle.”
He did, however add that he learnt he can “handle anything now”.
On his comment speculating he wouldn’t be able to pick Nicole up (physically), Sam explained “I genuinely didn’t mean any harm by it. I know I’m not a bad person, it’s honestly just nervousness.”
Jasmine credited her women’s intuition for not following things through with Sam, while Nicole took the opportunity to thank Benaiah for trying to intervene initially at the pod stage, saying “Thank you for having my back, being my third eye and just genuinely supporting me through every single thing. Thank you so much, I love you so much.”
When pressed on why Sam made the comment about Nicole trying to sleep with him, Sam said “Unfortunately the conversation did get a little bit heated and after watching it back I wish none of that took place.”
At this point Demi stepped in to urge Sam to say sorry to Nicole, telling him that what he said was disrespectful.
Yes, Demi!
We’ll be getting a Love is Blind UK season 2
Finally, we got confirmation that we’ll be getting a Love is Blind UK season 2, with Emma concluding the reunion by saying “Do you fancy doing it all again?”, to which Matt responded with “I do.”
Netflix also confirmed the news in a post to X on August 21:
We’ll see you then!
