Love Is Blind UK is all the internet is talking about right now, after the final two episodes dropped on Netflix. So, who got married and is still together? What drama went down on the wedding days? And are Bobby and Jasmine’s mum on good terms yet?

After weeks of anticipation, the Love Is Blind UK weddings are finally here, as we get to see which of the six engaged couples successfully make it down the aisle and say ‘I do’. *Spoilers*

While there was heartbreak for some people, it was joy for Bobby and Jasmine, who left the experiment as husband and wife, after committing to marrying each other. “People say that love takes work, but loving you is the easiest thing I’ve ever known,” Bobby told Jasmine at the altar. “I fell in love with your soul, and I knew that I wanted to make you my wife.”

During the experiment, the pair came up against very little turbulence, but Jasmine’s protective mother Marisa *almost* threw a spanner in the works, thanks to her fairly awkward first meeting with Bobby. “I’m in shock,” she said, when she joined them at the apartments.

“I have mixed feelings. Obviously there are fears. You see yourselves being together forever? How about past relationships? How many girlfriends did you have? How’s your education, Bobby?”

When he said he didn’t go to university, Marisa replied, “It’s better to be with a person with a good educational background. Sometimes it’s very difficult to communicate with an uneducated person. I’m very protective. I don’t want her to be hurt again.” She then grilled him on his finances, and whether Jasmine would be open about every argument they had with her.

It’s fair to say people on social media had a *lot* of opinions about Marisa, with some calling her overprotective and others questioning why she was so involved in Jasmine’s life.

Now, Marisa has spoken out to defend herself, releasing a statement about her behaviour. In a TikTok, she shared a post which read:

“To all viewers of Love Is Blind UK. Thank you for watching the show. May I request people to not foster hatred on social media. I am a mother and I thought I was being a mother. Forgive me if you have a negative opinion of my behaviour. You are all entitled to your opinion but remember we are all human.

“There were words that were said and the meaning in my head was different. We are all individual with different social and cultural backgrounds. My first language is Tagalog, not English.

“I myself felt uncomfortable watching the ‘uneducated’ part, I am sorry it was unpleasant. Let’s move on from that statement. Jasmine was safely raised to the best of my ability. I guided and protected Jasmine until the age when she is able to defend herself.

“As a mother, I was nervous and scared Jasmine is getting married under the experiment. I want her happiness, I want the best for my daughter. Again, please remember I am human. We all are. Thank you, Marisa.”
