One Love Is Blind season 6 almost got cast on The Bachelor before landing on the Netflix series that changed her life. While Love Is Blind season 6 has come to a close, the cast has been finally able to discuss their feelings surrounding the season candidly now that the results of the experiment are available to the public. For some, like Amy Cortes and Johnny McIntyre, their marriages were lasting, and have been proven that love is truly blind. For others, like Amber Desireé “AD” Smith and Clay Gravesande, things were just a bit more complicated.

“I had been scouted since 2018 for a lot of shows. Bachelor, Love Is Blind, Married At First Sight.”

While Love Is Blind worked in some respects for AD, she almost didn’t appear in the series at all. Sharing all the details on the podcast Relationshi* with Kamie Crawford, AD explained that she was scouted for The Bachelor before she wound up on Love Is Blind. “I had been scouted since 2018 for a lot of shows. Bachelor, Love Is Blind, Married At First Sight. I don’t know what kind of algorithm or file I’m in, but I almost got a DM almost every year about [casting],” AD shared, explaining that she was considering The Bachelor.

AD wasn’t exactly the picture of success on Love Is Blind season 6. During the pod phase of the season, AD spent the majority of her time talking to Clay, though she did connect with Matthew Duliba early on in the process. After Matthew left, AD focused on Clay and accepted his proposal. The pair were quickly attracted to each other and though they appeared to have a genuine connection, their relationship was made difficult by Clay’s consistent commitment issues coming to play. Clay ultimately rejected AD at the altar, but shared during the reunion that he wants her back.

Though AD wasn’t successful at finding a lasting marriage on Love Is Blind season 6, her time on the series was still a wonderful example of a participant being open and vulnerable with themselves. AD was able to put herself out there on the series, and though she was doing so from behind a wall at first, it took a lot of courage for her to be honest about her flaws. AD was able to prove on Love Is Blind that she can be upfront and honest about herself, which is a huge part of connecting on The Bachelor.

With AD and Clay sparking rumors that there’s still a connection between them, it’s possible that she’s off the market while she works through the issues she has with her former Love Is Blind fiance. For AD, the openness and willingness she has to find love would make her successful on most reality TV dating shows. Though she may not have found a conventional relationship on Love Is Blind, AD would be a great fit for other reality TV dating series if she’s single in the future.
